Locked Away è il singolo di successo dei Rock City, con la collaborazione del frontman dei Maroon 5, Adam Levine, disponibile nei negozi dallo scorso 29 giugno, che viene trasmesso dalle emittenti radiofoniche italiane da venerdì 24 Luglio 2015.
Conosciuti anche con gli pseudonimi R. City e Planet VI, i Rock City sono un duo di musicisti, compositori e produttori nonché fratelli americani composto da Theron and Timothy Thomas.
Dopo un esplosivo lancio in America, che li porta direttamente nell’olimpo delle hit estive, vendendo nella prima settimana 12 mila singoli e posizionandosi nella Top 10 di Shazam, “Locked Away” arriva in Europa confermandosi nella Top 10 di Spotify in svariati paesi come ad esempio Stati Uniti, Francia e Germania.
Il duo che ha scritto hit multiplatino come “Only” di Nicky Minaj, “I Don’t Mind” di Usher, “Pour It Up” di Rihanna, “We Can’t Stop” di Miley Cyrus, “Shower” di Becky G e pezzi per Justin Bieber, Usher, Future e molti altri, ha quindi sfornato l’ennesimo successo pop impreziosito dalla splendida voce di Adam Levine dei Maroon 5.
Il brano utilizza un sample della hit del 1980 dei Captain & Tennille (duo pop statunitense che avuto successo soprattutto negli anni ’70) “Do That To Me One More Time“. Il remix ufficiale propone un versetto addizionale del rapper americano Lil Wayne.
La canzone è stata firmata da Levine, i R. City, Lukasz Gottwald alias Dr. Luke, Henry Walter dei Cirkut e Toni Tennille. La produzione è opera di Dr. Luke e dei Cirkut.
Il singolo è accompagnato dal video ufficiale disponibile su Youtube dallo scorso 14 agosto. Al momento in cui scrivo, il filmato ha ottenuto quasi 50 milioni di visualizzazioni.
