Rilasciato il 9 marzo 2021 e in radio dal successivo 26 marzo, How Does It Feel è un singolo dei London Grammar, quarto estratto dal terzo album in studio Californian Soil, atteso il 16 aprile, a poco meno di quattro anni di distanza dall’ultima fatica discografica Truth Is a Beautiful Thing. Prodotto insieme a Charlie Andrew, George FitzGerald e Steve Mac, e anticipato anche da “Baby It’s You”, “Californian Soil” e “Lose Your Head”, l’atteso progetto del gruppo indie pop britannico composto dalla cantante Hannah Reid, dal polistrumentista Dan Rothman e dal chitarrista Dot Major, racchiuderà ulteriori otto tracce inedite.
Accompagnata da un video diretto da Dave Bullivant, la gradevole canzone “è nata come esperimento ed è finita per essere una delle mie preferite del disco” ha dichiarato Hannah Reid in occasione di un’intervista alla rivista musicale settimanale britannica New Musical Express (NME).
Per quel che concerne il significato, in questo pezzo prodotto dal trio insieme a Steve Mac, Hannah si rivolge all’ormai ex fiamma, chiedendosi come quest’uomo se la passi senza di lei, cosa prova a star male, ad essere depresso, com’è del resto stata lei, che tuttavia ha ormai superato la cosa e si ripromette di non commettere mai più gli stessi errori in campo sentimentale.
