Si intitola False Alarm il secondo singolo di The Weeknd estratto dal terzo studio album Starboy, che vedrà la luce il prossimo 25 novembre.
Dopo la title track incisa con la collaborazione dei Daft Punk, il cantautore canadese punta su questo pezzo per promuovere la terza attesissima era discografica, che includerà un totale di diciotto canzoni tutte da scoprire.
L’inedito è stato firmato dall’interprete insieme a Martin McKinney, aka Doc McKinney, Benjamin Diehl, Henry Russell Walter, in arte Cirkut, Emmanuel Nickerson e dal rapper Belly, al secolo Ahmad Belshe. McKinney, Ben Billions, Cirkut e Mano hanno curato la produzione del brano, accompagnato dal video ufficiale disponibile dal 13 ottobre.
Il videoclip
Il cinematografico, avvincente ed esplicito filmato, è stato diretto da Ilya Naishuller e mostra immagini molto crude e violente girate in una prospettiva in prima persona, che poco hanno a che fare col testo della canzone: siamo in una banca soggetta ad una rapina, effettuata da malviventi molto ben organizzati ed equipaggiati, senza scrupoli e disposti anche ad uccidere, cosa che faranno con una certa disinvoltura. All’arrivo della Polizia, ammanettano una ragazza per prenderla in ostaggio e fuggono. Ma preferisco non proseguire per non togliervi la sorpresa, vi dico solo che il finale è davvero sorprendente.
