L’8 gennaio 2016 viene rilasciata per Sony Classical la collezione di colonne sonore di Star Wars (Episodi I-VI), ripubblicazione in tre nuove edizioni definitive: Star Wars – The Ultimate Soundtrack Collection (dieci CD più un DVD), Star Wars – The Ultimate Vinyl Collection (undici LP) e Star Wars – The Ultimate Digital Collection (download ad alta risoluzione).
Dopo la pubblicazione della colonna sonora di Star Wars 7, arriva nei negozi questa collezione, che gli amanti della saga di certo non potranno lasciarsi scappare. Tutte le musiche, sono state composte dal leggendario compositore cinque volte premio Oscar, John Williams.
In The Ultimate Soundtrack Collection, sono presenti 10 CD più un disco bonus una nuova intervista audio con Harrison Ford, parallelamente ad una intervista a John Williams. E’ inoltre incluso il DVD Star Wars: A Musical Journey, uno speciale di 1 ora presentato dall’attore Ian McDiarmid. A completare il set vi sono un poster pieghevole e tre adesivi da collezione.
