Fast Car è il nuovo singolo di Jonas Blue feat. Dakota: si tratta della cover di Tracy Chapman, remake in versione tropical-house di uno dei suoi brani storici, esattamente il suo singolo di debutto, vincitore di un Grammy Award.
Scritto dalla stessa Chapman e prodotto da David Kershenbaum, il brano è disponibile nei negozi digitali dal 4 dicembre 2015 ed in rotazione radiofonica nazionale da venerdì 8 gennaio 2016.
Fast Car venne rilasciata nel 1988 come primo singolo dall’album “Tracy Chapman” e fu nominata in numerosi Grammy Award, incluse le categorie “Canzone dell’anno” e “Disco dell’anno”. L’unico conquistato fu tuttavia come “miglior performance femminile pop”. Nella lista delle 500 migliori canzoni della storia stilata dalla rivista Rolling Stone, il brano è stata inserito in 165esima posizione.
La versione di Jonas Blue è molto bella ed è già nella TOP 10 (in 10 paesi tra mi quali Australia, UK, Olanda e Danimarca) nella Viral Chart di Spotify e TOP 10 su iTunes in Australia.
Nato da padre svedese e madre americana, Jonas prende ispirazione dalla musica pop e dai classici della Dance Music, rendendo le sue canzoni uniche con un tocco di sonorità “Tropical”, seguendo il filone di Kygo, Lost Frequencies e Felix Jaehn. L’idea di realizzare un remake di “Fast Car” nasce dalla volontà di Jonas di rendere omaggio ad uno dei brani più amati dalla madre.
L’unico suo problema era trovare la cantante che interpretasse il suo remake e casualmente, in un pub di East London, Jonas sente una voce unica nel suo genere: quella di Dakota. L’artista capisce subito che sarebbe stata perfetta per il suo singolo.
